About COMPETITIVE DEVELOPMENT
For players looking to elevate their game and compete at higher levels, PGYSA’s Development Teams offer a competition environment with advanced training and travel opportunities across British Columbia.
Players receive consistent coaching, tactical instruction, and the chance to compete in regional and provincial tournaments and exhibition games. This program is designed for focused players who want to challenge themselves against top competition, and take their soccer journey to the next level. If you’re committed to training hard and representing PGYSA on a bigger stage, our Development Teams provide the perfect pathway to elite play and long-term growth.
The Development Team Program will run between March 30th to September 30th.
Some age groups may start training over spring break as communicated by team coaches to registered players.
Please note: Practice sessions and games beyond June 30th will vary by team based on coach availability throughout the summer/fall.
The Development Team Practice Schedule will be released in two phases:March-April will be available by the end of February. May-September will be available by the end of April.
Registration will open in February 2026.
Registration fee is $150.
Please note: Players MUST be registered for the PGYSA House League program to participate in the PGYSA Development Team program.
What are player assessments?
Open to ALL interested players who are born from 2012 to 2017

what does the registration fee include?
The fee covers 1-2 practices per week.
Please note: Practice sessions and games beyond June 30th will vary by team based on coach availability throughout the summer/fall.
The Fee DOES NOT cover the cost of attending tournaments.
All travel expenses are the responsibility of the player.
Every tournament, jamboree or exhibition opportunity will have a player fee to offset the team registration cost and travel coach expenses.

Development Team players will be invited to participate in opportunities that align with their current level of ability.
Opportunities for each age group are chosen by the team coach(es) / PGYSA Technical Director.Please refer to the calendar below.
