Coaching with Prince George Youth Soccer Association (PGYSA) is a rewarding opportunity to mentor young athletes, share your love of the game, and contribute to the growth of soccer in our community. Whether you’re an experienced coach or just starting, we provide training, certification support, and mentorship to help you succeed.

Grassroots & Recreational Coaching (Ages 3-18)
✔ Teach fundamentals and teamwork in a fun, structured environment.
✔ No experience necessary—we provide all the resources you need!
✔ Great for parents, former players, and first-time coaches.
DEVELOPMENT TEAM Coaching (Ages 9-18)
✔ Work with advanced players and help develop their technical and tactical skills.
✔ Opportunities to coach travel teams and participate in regional & provincial tournaments.
✔ BC Soccer certification required—PGYSA provides support for courses & licensing.
Coaching Requirements & Certification
PGYSA supports all new and returning coaches in completing BC Soccer & Canada Soccer coaching certifications.
Depending on the level you coach, you may need:
✔ Respect in Sport Certification (Required for all coaches)✔ BC Soccer Community Coach Courses (Grassroots & Recreational)✔ Canada Soccer C License & Higher (Competitive & Academy)✔ Background Check & Safe Sport Training
