KIDSPORT

KidSport is a community based sport-funding program established in 1993 by Sport BC. KidSport provides grants for children ages 18 and under to participate in a season of sport. There are 40 community chapters in BC, and over 175 chapters across Canada.

Prince George KidSport was formed to ensure that money raised in our community, stays in our community. The Prince George KidSport committee is made up of volunteers who work hard to ensure all Prince George ‘Kids Can Play!’.

ELIGIBILITY

  • A KidSport Application form must be filled out completely and accurately
  • Children ages 18 and under are eligible to apply for a grant

HOW TO APPLY

  1. An Adult Sponsor must fill out a grant application on behalf of the child. The sponsor fills out sections 1-3, and then passes the application to a financial verification reference. The adult sponsor needs to ensure that application is complete (signed), and returned to KidSport. PGYSA accepts completed KidSport Applications.
  2. The reference is the most important step in the KidSport application process. This individual verifies that without KidSport assistance, the child would be unable to participate in the season of sport.
