Players learn the ABCs of movement: agility, balance, co-ordination, and speed, as well as running, jumping, twisting, throwing, and catching. Movement/exercise are designed to promote a feel for the ball: gaining ball control in receiving passes, dribbling, passing less than 25m, kicking the ball forward and shooting on goal. Players will be introduced to co-operation between players and will gain understanding of the game through playing situations as well as building game intelligence and decision making. Volunteer coaches are in place for each team
Please volunteer to be a coach. The FUNdamentals Coaching Clinic is scheduled for April 23, 2017 . PGYSA covers the cost of your certification. As a volunteer coach, you are mentored on the fields and Staff Coaches support you by running the session 2x per week. Practice sessions are also posted on the PGYSA website to print off and use.
