This level is known as the "Golden Age of Learning" where intrinsic motivation is developed, players move from self-centred to self-critical, talent is identified and they have a high stimulation level during basic skills training. This is an important time to teach basic principles of play and to establish training ethic and discipline. Repetitions are important to develop technical excellence, but creating a fun and challenging environment is still essential for stimulation learning. This is an optimal window for trainability of speed, flexibility, and skills. Players will be assessed and placed in Tier 1 or Tier 2. Volunteer Coaches are in place for each team.
Please volunteer to be a coach. The Learn to Train Coaching Clinic is scheduled for September 16-17, 2017. PGYSA covers the cost of your certification. As a Volunteer Coach, you are mentored on the fields and Staff Coaches support you by running the sessions 1x per week. Practice sessions are also posted on the PGYSA website to print off and use. Contact Caitlin Lamble at firstname.lastname@example.org for the registration code.
